The Foundation for Self-Sufficiency in Central America is now becoming "EcoViva" and has created some beautiful new videos about the work La Coordinadora is doing in the Bajo Lempa. My parents happened to be visiting while Spencer Stoner, this amazing videographer, was present to film the raw footage, so they´re featured in one of the videos--and another one is centered around the youth program. New beginnings, or, the objectives of this writing.
I have been meaning to start a new blog for a long time...now that I have relatively re-established myself back in the United States, the timing finally feels right. So, here goes...!
I am currently embarking on some new adventures:
-Living and re-connecting with my family
-Encountering and re-encountering friends
-Dis-covering community here at the northern end of L.A. county (a.k.a. the suburbs)
-Identifying (with) plants and animals
-Working at a camp in Lake Arrowhead (www.flroutdoorscience.com) and at a farm in Willits, CA (www.emandal.com)
-Teaching and learning about environmental education
This is probably what most of this blog will be about, with some random lukewarm philosophical musings thrown in every once in a while to spice things up. And some pictures too.
There are a lot of experiences that have gone unexpressed regarding my final months in El Salvador this past year; I was going through a lot of transformation that I didn't necessarily want to share with everyone on the internet in my previous blog (sorry, stalkers!). I may try to delve into some of that morass whilst writing in this little box...we shall see. For now, I have created two online albums that you can view with pictures from the past two years: porque las fotos expresan más que palabras.
As my dad says, "And awaaaaaaaaaaaay we go!" (insert music here.)
